Guide to Upscaling AI Images for Large Prints
For this guide, we rendered an image using Midjourney. Midjourney also has an onboard upscaling function, however, it can only go up to 1024x1024px.
For most normal screens, this resolution is quite average, however for large prints, this is very small. Let’s enhance and upscale this image with the help of AI.
Step 1. Visit https://letsenhance.io/boost to log in or create an account.

Step 3. Choosing the Right Settings
Now that the image is uploaded, there are 3 upscale options to choose from and each performs slightly differently.
First, there’s the Digital art upscale type option. This works well for all manner of art and this particular setting is optimized to handle this specific image type. The one disadvantage to the Digital art upscale type is that it has a limited upscale factor and it only goes up to 4x.
This particular setting works well for smaller printing jobs. Printing on A4 paper, for example, requires a 2480x3507 pixel image, as this is the resolution that maintains 300DPI (dots-per-inch) on paper. So, in this case, the Digital art setting on Let’s Enhance would suffice.
Then there is the Smart resize setting, which comes with the added benefit of having more options for upscaling, with up 6x the upscale factor. This resolution would work on up to A2 paper prints.
Additionally, Smart Resize works for all types of images, though it’s highly recommended to use it with images that contain text.
Finally, there’s the option of selecting presets which can be accessed through the Presets panel on the top right.
After that select Printing which will give you numerous options for upscale and printing sizes. There you will have 3 categories to choose from, which include Poster, Photo, and International Papers.
For the purpose of this guide, the 18x24 inch option is selected.
This means the image will be increased from 1024x1024px to 7200×7200px with a print size of 24×24 inches (both sides are the same as the image is square).
This means the image settings have been selected and now it’s time to upscale the AI-generated picture.
Step 4: Process and Download
With the upscale type and factor selected, click Start processing, and Let’s Enhance will begin upscaling the image.
Depending on the size of the image size, type, and output resolution, the time it takes to upscale the image varies. In this case, it took Let’s Enhance less than a minute to upscale the image and have it ready for large-size printing.
Once the image finishes processing, click the downwards arrow button to download the image.

While it may take a few tries to get the best results, Let’s Enhance successfully upscaled the image to a much higher resolution and retained 300 DPI, which is perfect for printing.
