This comparison dives deep into Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI. We tested both online image enhancers on product images, personal photography, and AI art, looking closely at resolution improvement, detail preservation, user-friendliness, and pricing.
Quick overview of Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI
Both Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI help upscale images that are too blurry, damaged, or low-res for print. While they offer similar capabilities, each targets slightly different needs.
Magnific AI: focus on improving or reimagining AI art
Magnific AI is mostly focused on creating high-resolution, hyper-realistic images out of AI-generated ones that lack quality or detail. The tool also offers restyling the original image, letting their AI algorithms impose what they call “hallucinations”—additional details based on prompts but with some level of unpredictability. Thus the naming of their main functionality mode—Creative. It’s best suited for those who want to create realistic AI visuals: lifelike portraits, fashion photos, fantasy universes, etc.
It’s only in summer 2025 that Magnific AI has introduced the Precision mode, which serves for upscaling real-life photography and other images. This mode doesn’t let the engine “hallucinate” over the original image. Currently only available for the x2 upscaling.
As you can see from the settings screenshots below, Magnific lets you experiment with a lot of options, especially in the Creative mode. There are 3 types of engines to choose from (first targeted at illustrations, second targeted at photos, and a balanced third one), as well as different levels of detailing and creativity.

Such an abundance of settings might pose a small issue right off the bat, especially for people who aren’t familiar with image editing and are looking to fix specific parameters (reduce noise, increase resolution, etc.). On top of that, a lot of explanations seem too similar: for instance, how will higher HDR be different from higher fractality? You can test out various combinations, but it’s probably too costly to try them all.
Magnific AI doesn’t offer a free trial and is generally on the pricier side (subscriptions start at $39 per month).

Let’s Enhance: focus on upscaling low-res images
On the other hand, Let’s Enhance offers an image upscaler that is concentrated on fixing the issues while preserving the original. In its newest Ultra feature, you can also experiment with AI creativity if you don’t aim for 100% similarity (and the tool offers generative capabilities within a separate feature), but we’ll concentrate on the options that give you the most control over the result.
Let’s Enhance lets you fix lighting and color, remove background, and increase the sharpness and final resolution of your files.
On top of that, the platform provides you with several enhancement options optimized for certain types of images (portraits, old photos, digital art, etc.) and offers one or a few toggles to customize the task.

For instance, if you choose to enhance colors on your image, you can set the percentage of intensity, deciding how far from the original you’d like to go. Similarly, in the Ultra mode, you can set up the levels of enhancer intensity choosing the balance that works for you. The tool also lets you combine several enhancers. For example, you can upscale the resolution and fix the lighting. The settings are easy to navigate as there aren’t many confusing options.
Finally, Let’s Enhance is rather flexible with its pricing. There are different tiers of monthly and annual subscription plans available for individuals and businesses, as well as a pay-as-you-go model that allows you to only pay for credits that are not time-limited.
Individual subscriptions start as low as $9 per month with 100 credits included (most features charge 1 credit per upscaling, except Ultra, which depends on target resolution).
Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI comparison: Real-life use cases
Let’s explore how these tools work on 3 different use cases: ecommerce, family photos, and AI art.
1. Let’s Enhance vs Magnific AI for upscaling product photos
The first scenario we’re going to explore is upscaling product photos. Reselling and dropshipping merchants often don’t have access to the highest quality of photos from suppliers and need to do what they can with what little they have.
We used a photo of pens that was a bit blurry and passed it through different settings in Let’s Enhance and Magnific.

Let’s review the results. The Precision upscaling mode in Magnific currently only allows for maximum x2 enhancement. It increased the resolution and made the details sharper while (mostly) preserving the integrity of written words.

While the Creative mode allows for higher resolution enhancements, it significantly distorts the image and doesn’t keep the original text correctly. As you can see from the zoomed-in part, the tool accentuated the shadows, adding unpleasant noise to photos, and completely distorted the text.

Let’s see what we achieved with the same product photo in Let’s Enhance. We used the Ultra mode, for x2 and x4 upscaling. Both enhancements helped achieve better detailing while staying true to the original.

However, a tiniest textual detail wasn’t parsed correctly by either tool. This can happen when the text is severely degraded or extremely small in the initial image.
Verdict: Let’s Enhance is more suitable for real-life product photography. It allows for higher precision and more impressive upscaling sizes. However, it might also not be 100% when you need to preserve the integrity of written text and other details.

2. Let’s Enhance vs Magnific AI for upscaling personal photos
Photography is a great medium for keeping our memories, but it might be a struggle to have personal and family photos in good resolution. On top of that, some of the most unique photographs taken throughout the last century and kept in families as heirlooms are often damaged and require professional renovation.
Image enhancers like Let’s Enhance and Magnific can help you restore photos that are damaged, too blurry, or have other issues—and make them print-ready. Let’s see how well the tools work with the same old photograph.

Similarly to product images, when upscaling personal photos, staying true to the original is crucial. We know the people in our photos, so any deviations and creative liberties might hurt. Jumping a bit ahead, creative enhancements in both tools significantly changed facial features. Not to get distraught by an AI-guessed look of your loved ones, opt for clarity improvements only (increasing sharpness, fixing the tone, etc.).
Let’s review some of the results we’ve got. Let’s Enhance offers a separate option specifically designed for restoring old photos. While this functionality includes colorization, you can choose the Authentic mode that doesn’t add colors and preserves the original. However, it didn’t work too well with this particular photo: while the resolution was improved, the scope of enhancement was rather modest.
The best results were achieved via the Balanced mode, which allowed for x4 resolution increase without compromising the nature of the photo.

With the Ultra enhancement, the resulting photo is a lot sharper and cleaner, but you might notice some changes in facial details.

While the Creative mode in Magnific AI produced some horrendous versions of the face, the Precision mode turned out to give a rather balanced result for this photo. It’s still quite blurry, but the quality is improved and all the details stay true to the original. We can expect that Magnific improves this functionality and future enhancements won’t be limited to x2.

Verdict: Even though Let’s Enhance has a dedicated feature for old photos, its Balanced enhancer worked best for this black-and-white photo. Magnific AI also allowed for a balanced enhancement, but it doesn’t go higher than x2 at the moment.

3. Let’s Enhance vs Magnific AI for upscaling AI art
The third use case we’re going to explore is creating print-ready digital art, especially if generated with AI. We’re not aiming to get creative but are looking for detailing and resolution improvement.

The AI art in the example has a certain drawn-like effect so it doesn’t need photographic realism, but there are many details that can get sharper (leaves, knobs, etc.). Let’s see what we’ve got with different settings in Let’s Enhance and Magnific.
The Precision mode in Magnific AI managed to successfully upscale the image without adding any unnecessary details.

With the Creative mode, we had to stay careful with the settings not to end up with a completely reimagined picture. By setting up Resemblance to the highest level, Creativity to 0, and Fractality to -5, we received a nice, realistic x4 enhancement.

With Let’s Enhance, the output in the Ultra mode can differ in the extent of AI creative freedoms, but even at the highest level of creativity, the tool doesn’t get too far. For instance, we achieved nice x4 upscaling while preserving the original art by setting Intensity to 20%.

The Magic mode worked similarly on this image, also increasing its resolution x4. This feature is special as it lets you add prompts if you want to add some new AI-generated details.

Verdict: Evaluating upscaling capabilities (not the generative potential) for improving the quality of digital art, we found both tools live up to its promise. However, Magnific AI only features x2 Precision enhancement at the moment, while all the options in the Creative mode have certain unpredictability to them (and the settings are harder to go through to experiment). With that said, Let’s Enhance offered simpler and more impressive upscaling options for AI-generated art.

Final verdict on Let’s Enhance vs Magnific AI for image upscaling
We’ve tested image upscaling tools Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI on three different types of images. What have we discovered throughout the process?

Quality increase
Both tools work pretty well in increasing the resolution of the original picture, allowing you to increase it up to x16. However, Magnific only offers x2 enhancement in the Precision mode, which turns out to be the most suitable for real-life photos (for ecommerce, personal photo management, etc.).
Preservation of the original
The more creative freedom the AI has, the more unpredictable the result. For instance, Ultra enhancement in Let’s Enhance and Creative enhancement in Magnific significantly or completely distorted real people’s faces, even when we indicated the highest level of resemblance. On the other hand, we managed to find a feature in each tool that did a pretty decent job, but there’s still much to be desired in this area.
User-friendliness
Both Let’s Enhance and Magnific AI are easy to navigate, but the latter offers a lot more options that overlap and might be confusing (but these options are relevant for the Creative mode, which wasn’t our focus for upscaling real-life images).
Price
Let’s Enhance provides you with easier access, as you can create a free account and test the functionality by using 10 free credits (it might be enough for 10 simple edits or fewer more complicated ones). Overall, its pricing is more accessible and flexible; plus, your unused credits roll over to the next month.
In turn, Magnific AI only offers 3 types of subscriptions that might seem rather expensive for individual use, and your unused credits expire. It would be nice to have a separate subscription plan or pay-as-you-go option for Precision mode only: it’s understandable that the platform uses a lot of resources for the Creative mode, which can completely reimagine the original picture, but it doesn’t make sense to pay for it if you’re only interested in upscaling.
To sum up
If you’re looking for straightforward, consistent upscaling for real-life photography, Let’s Enhance is the stronger choice right now. Magnific can produce excellent AI art enhancements and offers deep customization, but its best precision tools are limited in scale and come at a higher price.
