Introducing Prime: the upscaler that makes images sharper without making them fake
Prime is our new default upscaler. It increases resolution and clarity while preserving the textures that make photos look like photos: skin pores, fabric grain, fine lines, natural imperfections.
Most AI enhancement tools over-correct. Skin goes smooth. Faces shift. The result looks "enhanced" in a way that feels off. Prime takes a different approach: it treats your original image as ground truth and boosts what's there instead of replacing it.
The result is sharper, higher-resolution images where people still look like themselves.
Works on more than portraits
Prime is optimized for skin and fine texture, but it handles anything where realistic detail matters: product shots, fashion, food, lifestyle photography. If your image has texture you want to keep, Prime will keep it.
Some examples of what it does well:
- Portraits for print without the waxy, airbrushed look
- E-commerce product photos with preserved labels and material texture
- Fashion photography where fabric grain and styling details stay intact
- Food photography where surface texture makes the image feel tangible
- AI-generated images that gain realistic texture instead of losing it
One-click, no settings
Upload your image. Choose your output size (up to 16x, max 512MP). Done.
There's no sliders or toggles. Prime is tuned to hit the right balance automatically. For most photos, it should just work.
When to use a different model
Prime is now the default, but other options are still available under "More models" in the enhancer menu.
Gentle is your backup for images that just need more pixels without quality enhancement. It's the most subtle option. If your starting image is already high quality and you only need resolution, or if you're working with very small text that Prime doesn't handle perfectly, try Gentle.
Old Photo repairs damage, fading, and colorizes black-and-white images. Use it first for restoration, then upscale the result with Prime.
Strong and Ultra are for cases where you want the AI to reconstruct or creatively reinterpret details. Useful for severely degraded inputs where fidelity matters less than aesthetic improvement.
How to try it
Prime is live now and selected by default when you upload an image. Pricing is 1-10 credits based on output size (most typical upscales cost 1-2 credits).
Upload a portrait. Zoom to 100% on the skin. That's where you'll notice what Prime does differently.
FAQ
Does Prime work on non-portrait images?
Yes. It's strongest on skin and fine textures, but works well on product photos, fashion, food, and general photography. If your image has detail you care about preserving, Prime is a good starting point.
What if I want to access the older upscaler models?
They're under "More models" in the enhancer selection menu. You'll see Prime, Gentle, and Old Photo by default. Strong, Ultra, Balanced, and Digital Art are one click away.
Will Prime smooth out wrinkles or change facial features?
No. Identity preservation is core to how Prime works. It enhances detail without erasing natural texture or shifting how people look.
What's the best output size?
Prime works across the full range (1x to 16x, up to 512MP). For complex scenes or small faces, 2MP+ output tends to produce the cleanest results.
